Day 1 Yangon Arrival - Yangon Sightseeing
Arrive by morning flight . Upon arival atYangon Airport, you will be greeted by your Golden Queen Myanmar Tour guide and follow by the process of GQM welcoming program at the airport. On the way to Hotel for checking in, visit to Kaba Aye Pagoda and BoddhaUniversity. After checked in hotel, visit Sule Pagoda and around Yangon downtown area.
Complete your first day in Yangon with visit to the most important sanctuary of the country and place of pilgrimage for Buddhists from all world, the Shwedagon Pagoda with glitter gold.Enjoy the sunsetfrom there.Both Lunch and Dinner are on your own account. Stay overnight at hotel in Yangon.
Day 2 Yangon –Bago – Kyaikhtiyo
After early breakfast at hotel and then drive to Bago (84 km - 1½hours). En route, visit Kyakhat Wine Temple and you can offer foods to monks there. The former capital of the Mon Kingdom of Pegu, visit the 55 meters long reclining Buddha in the Shwethalyang Pagoda. Then process to Kyaikhtiyo, one of Myanmar’s landmarks, which is famous for its precarious position and religious important. Kyaikhtiyo the “Golden Rock”, a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. Arrive at the base camp of Kinpun and proceed to the Golden Rockby open truck Take a light trekking on the summit through bamboo. As your choice, you can be carried in sedan-chairs by four strong porters, an extra cost willUS$16 per pax. Luggage will be carried by porters. Day 3 Kyaikhtiyo – Bago – Yangon
After breakfast at hotel, take a half hour walk to a small cave. Also stop at the roadside shops for rare product of jungle. Midmorning, drive down to the base camp and return to Yangon via Bago. Make a short visit of Bago town tour including Bago Local Market, Kanbawzathardi Palace built by King Bayinnaung and wood carving industry. Then,visit the huge 115m high and covered with about one and a half tons of gold ShwemawdawPagoda and the four seated on a pedestal 30 m high Buddha figures in the Kyaikpun Pagoda. Both lunch and dinner are on your own account.Then back to Yangon andstay overnight at hotel in Yangon.
Day 4 Yangon - Mandalay
After breakfast at hotel starting drive to Mandalay (about 624km, drivinghour about 9 hr 30 mins with normal speed).Upon arrival at Mandalay and check in Hotel. After shortrefreshment in the hotel, tour starts to Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings. Then, go back to the hotel and relax. Both Lunch and Dinner are on your own account. Day 5 Mandalay – Amarapura - Mandalay
After breakfast at hotel, begin your sightseeing tour of Mandalay with a visit to Mahamuni Pagoda. This pagoda is home to one of the country’s most revered Buddha images which, over the years, have been covered with gold leaf giving it an almost lumpy texture, a traditional hand –woven Silk workshop as well as Kalaga Tapestriescraftsmen’s work shop; visit to the Gold Leaf work shop. Then visit to a renownedsilk weaving house. On the way to Amarapura, visit to Bronze caster and observe the traditional loss-wax methodsof bronze casting producing statues of all sizes. Next, visit to AMARAPURA, the first of the three old
capitals. After that, visit 200 year -old U BEIN teak bridgespan across Thaungthaman Lake built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was Royal capital. Both Lunch and Dinner are on your own account. Stay overnight at hotel in Mandalay.
Day 6 Mandalay – Mingun - Mandalay
After breakfast at hotel, driving to Mayan Chan jetty and board on a local wooden boat for Mingun across Ayeyarwaddy River (11km, approx. 1hr). The boat trip is interesting because you see all types of wooden boats and bamboo rafts, carrying goods up and down theriver. Visit will start with the Mingun Bell, a magnificent sight of the world’s largest un-cracked bell weighing 90 tons, and will continue with HsinbyumePayaas well as the unfinished MingunPahtodawgyi, an enormous pile of bricks is all that remain of King Bodawpaya ambition to make it the world’s largest Buddhist stupa. After a visit of beautiful Mya Thein Tan Pagoda, return back to Mandalay by boat. After that, visit the Golden Palace Monastery, a super example of a traditional wooden building and Kuthodaw Pagoda the world largest book, made of marble. Day 7 Mandalay – Ava – Sagaing - Mandalay
After breakfast, visit to another “Royal Capital” Ava also known as Inwa, which naturally the main mode of transportation here is horse-drawn carts. Afterwards, you will board your awaiting limousines drawn by horses and driven by your private chauffeurs to visit a 150-
year old monastery still in use, calledBargayar Monastery which is one of the oldest teak monasteries in Myanmar. Then continue to Nanmyint Watch Tower, climbing up the tower on its steep wooden steps you will be rewarded with a great view of the surrounding areas as well as the distant Sagaing Hills covered with innumerous pagodas. Continuing to the huge monasteryMahaAungMyay Bon Zanbuilt of bricks but still following the traditional wooden architectural style.Then visit the holy Hill Of Sagain to pay a visit to SwonOoPonnya Shin Pagoda on Sagain Hill,enjoy the marvelous views from there. Then, Kaunghmudaw Pagoda which is the formerly white pagoda now shines in gold. The spherical shape (so the legend) to represent the breast of King Thalun’s favorite wife, the village of Ywataung to see thetraditional silver works.Both Lunch and Dinner are on your own account. Day 8 Mandalay – PyinOo Lwin
After morning breakfast, drive to PyinOo Lwin ( Maymyo ) is located about 7 miles north of Mandalay. Over 1000 metres above sea-level, PyinOo Lwin is a popular hill station about 69km away from Mandalay. It is well known for its colonial style houses with large compound and pine trees, and silver-oak abound in town. Delightfully cool and pleasant the whole year round. Arrive to PyinOo Lwin, visit to local market to enjoy the seasonal fresh fruit and flowers. After that proceed to NationalKandawgyi Garden,PweKauk (Ani-sakan) Waterfalls, Chinese Temple and Peik Chin Myaung Caves. In evening , checking in at hotel. Day 9 PyinOo Lwin – BaganSightseeing
After breakfast at hotel, drive to Bagan (about 254km, driving hour about 5hrs with normal speed). On the way, you pass Myingyan and TaungThar. There are two markets selling different, TaungTharZay (Southern Market) for clothes & household Materials, and MaukZay (Northern Market) for vegetables, fruits, meats, regional products. Nice to explore Northern Market! Most market in tourist area. Highlights in Myingyan are Soon Lun U KaWi Temple &Koe Song Pagoda to see the city shape with panoramic view from top of pagoda. If you leave a little bit earlier from Mandalay, you have more time to spend in around 1 hour for visiting Set SetYo village after Mt.Popa before Bagan. You can see the country children who have special hair style that very rare to find in Myanmar. Day 10 Bagan Archaeological Sightseeing
After early breakfast, visit local marketin NyaungOo. Proceed with visits to the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan including Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as at religious shrine; Ananda Temple, with four standing Buddha images. After lunch, visit one of Myanmar’s most treasured handicrafts, a lacquer ware craftsmen’s workshop in nearby Myinkaba village. You will continue to Manuha Temple, built in Mon-Style in 1059 and you will explore the NanbayaTmeple, a unique sandstone monument said to have been the palace of King Manuha. Next you will explore the MyingabaGuByaukGyi Temple, a temple worthy for its mural paintings under the protection of UNESCO. Proceed to Bupaya Pagodato watch the sunset over thefamous Ayaeyarwaddy River.Both Lunch and Dinner are on your account. Stay overnight at hotel in Bagan.
Day 11 Bagan - Yangon
After early breakfast, drive to Yangon (about 626km, about 9:30 hrs with normal speed). On the way you will see the way of life of Myanmar people and enjoy the scenery. Both Lunch and Dinner are on your own account. Stay overnight at hotel in Yangon.
Day 12 Yangon Sightseeing- International departure
After breakfast at Hotel, visit to the Karaweik Hall, a ‘Hamsa-bird’ shaped floating barge on Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake for photo shot. Then visit BogyokeAung San Market, formerly known as Scott’s market, where you can shop until you drop - from sandals to sapphires, puppets to puppies, arts to artifacts, you just name it, you will find it there (Closed on Mondays and Public Holidays). After check out from Hotel, visit to the magnificent Reclining Buddha at ChaukHtatGyi, one of the country’s most stunning reclining Buddhas, the serene face is topped by a crown encrusted with colorful precious stones. Then Transfer to Yangon International Airport for your evening departure flight to conclude this unique experience.One of GQM team member will bid farewell to you at the Airport.
